Miss Peeler is survived by her nephew, Michael A. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brother, Alan Lamar Peeler, sister, Betty Julian, niece, Nita Julian, and her beloved dog, Sparkles. She loved Catawba College football, Duke University Athletics, and her Sunday evening gatherings with her church family and friends. After its establishment and as long as her health permitted, she enjoyed her morning walks with her dog, Sparkles, in the park. She was a member of Wittenberg Lutheran Church and served two terms on the Granite Quarry Board of Aldermen during which she was instrumental in establishing Granite Lake Park. Miss Peeler was a graduate of Granite Quarry High School and retired as the Secretary to the President at Catawba College after 40+ years and six presidents. She was born February 17, 1934, in Rowan County to the late M.J.
